New Sony SLVSE810 tracking problems

Hi,

I have just got a new Sony video recorder, but when playing back any video tape recorded on the old panasonic vrc, the tracking appears to be wrong despite adjustment, and the is a constant fuzzy line through the picture. Has anyone else seen this problem when switching to a new VCR?
(BTW Sony claims it is because of a unique method of tracking that the Pansionic used)

I had a similar problem to yours. My Panasonic vcr didn't like recordings from a new Sony machine that I bought. But I'm using a panny tv that's iffy with certain vcr's including panasonic machines. Why can't these manufactures get it right in the first place? To busy designing them on paper without fully testing them 'in the field' I suppose.
