Ripping Music DVD

I have searched but can not seem to find anything on this.

I have a few music DVDs and I would like to rip individual tracks to something like AVI files. I have found a tool that does this (123 DVD Converter) but this does not seem to play ball with resolutions.

I end up with small black bars around the bottom and side and what looks like a graphic equaliser on the top. Any ideas on better software or how I need to fix this (I think the settings to adjust this are actually divX ones ??)

edit: Actually it looks like this is just one disc. Another one which is macrovision encoded with same regions and basically looks the same is in normal 4:3 with no issues

Can you not just rip them to a vob file then convert to MPEG?

I though VOB files were just video ?? I need the audio as well

VOB is not a format but what is called a container. The VOB contains both MPEG 2 video and its associated audio.

I would use DVD Shrink to extract the individual tracks and save them. Then use a DiVX program to create AVI's.

You can use tmpeg encoder to seperate the audio and video stream...but then you would have to convert the .ac3 stream..

The easiest way is to download windows media encoder, then drop you r.vob file in there then just tell it to convert the audio only and it will downmix the .ac3 audio to 2 channel .wma
