John Wayne
The Quiet Man, The Searchers, Big Jake
James Cagney

Anyone noticed how we are all going for male actors rather than actresses. Apart from GLENDA JACKSON and DIANE LANE (my choice - yum) everyone seems to prefer guys over gals.
oxygenuk
16-08-2005, 9:09 AM
that because us guys are better than women at everything and women always seem to have the "boring" role in films
grimoor
16-08-2005, 9:31 AM
I think mainly due to the fact that there aren't that many films with woman in leading roles and when they are then tend to be more films for woman. My opinion.

I don't think other than for Angelina Jolie that I have ever said I want to go to see a film because of an actress. And it wasn't for her acting, but she isn't bad either.
I know Meryl Streep, Cata Blanchett, Susan Sarandon, etc are good actress, but that doesn't effect my choice of movie. Whereas who the actor is has, but not always.
Robert De Niro - Good Fellas, Heat, Ronin, 15 Minutes, The Score
Christian Slater - 3000 Miles to Graceland, True Romance, Interview with the Vampire, Broken Arrow
John Travolta - Pulp Fiction, Basic, Generals Daughter, Swordfish
Denzel Washington - Training Day, Man on Fire, Out of Time, The Manchurian Candidate
