Unhappy Save Digital Photos to Watch on DVD?

Hi all. I have Nero 6 Ultra Edition and Photoshop CS2. I want to save my digital photographs to CD or DVD to view on my Sony DVD player.

I managed this a while ago but since then I have changed DVD players and computers!

When I save onto DVD the player wont read disk. When I save to CDR creating a SVCD the player will not read it.

Finally I can save to VCD and the player reads it but the picture quality is very poor.

Any advice appreciated. I'm sure I'm missing something very basic here. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

A lot of this depends on the specifications of your DVD player. What model DVD player have you got ?
I have some software that allows me to create movies of my photos but you do lose quality when showing them this way.

This has been discussed here a few times before so you should be able to find the replies with a search.

What you want is a DVD slideshow. I use pinnacle studio 9 that I have for the camcorder and just drag in a bunch of jpegs.

Search the forum and you will see what software others reccommend.

They look as good as I think it is possible for them to look on a TV - so no quality is pretty good. And of course it's easy to drag a couple of mp3's in for bacground musuc too.

ps - the OP has a DVD player mentioned in the sig

Thanks for all the advice. I demoed Proshow Gold loved it so I bought it. Easy to use. I can add sound (when I work it out) but I created a great DVD loop photo album with excellent quality.
