DVD Player Replacement - Which one

I currently have a Denon 2800mk2 which is dying on me.

I want a DVD player that will atleast equal it on performance, money isn't really an issue, but i would like to send less than £1.5k. The cheaper the better.

I have no interest in SACD/DVD-A, Decoder, Progressive Scan, DAC, mp3, etc.

All i need is a DVD transport that can output component video and have a digital audio out, although i would prefer a digitial video feed as well if possible.

Oh and it must be region unlocked.

My projector is a Sharp VX-Z9000, which can produce a stunning picture.

I am a bit weary of another Denon, because my 2800mk2 has always been very fussy about playing DVD's. Since i rent most of my films, this isn't fun.

What are my options?

I have amongst others a Pioneer 757ai, it does most of things you don't require but it is a cracking player, plays virtually all discs and has a barage of tweaks should you want them.
I know this is end of line now but I thought you may give it a try, I have found Pioneer more reliable with suspect media and Sony less so.
