View Full Version : Multiregion how do you do it on PC
I am thinking of adding a DVD drive to my PC how do I ensure that it will be multiregion.
Any help will be welcome
what you need is a program called DVD Genie, which is a region changing software, that works with WinDVD and PowerDVD etc.
Dunno how it works, you'll have 2 wait for someone who uses it.

There are two elements to ensuring you have a multiregion setup. The second is DVD genie as Retro replied.
The first is to ensure the firmware in the DVD ROM Drive is multiregion.
There are some useful sites which tell you whether a drive is RPC-1 (multi-region capable) or RPC-2 (locked into a specific region).
Obviously you want to avoid RPC-2 drives.
These sites also tell you how to make the RPC-1 drives multi-region by overwriting the existing firmware with a hacked version.
This hacked firmware is downloadable with instructions from these sites.
The URL to start with is http://perso.club-internet.fr/farzeno/firmware/dvd/dvdfi.htm
This will send you off to other interesting sites to download the right firmware and checking tool etc.
