This is a shot of St Oswald's Bay in Dorset - a lovely double-cove between Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door.
It's difficult to see in the picture but although the sea was mill-pond flat, the spindrift was hovering a foot or two above the sea giving it a really strange feel.
Real natural beauty with no input from man.
It says everything to me about the glory of the British coastline.

It's a lovely scene, but the quality of the pic lets it down. It looks like it has masses of 'noise' on it, has it been stretched in size or particularly reduced in quality in any way?

Hi Steve - it was taken on film which I scanned using a brand new Minola Dimage Scan Dual IV. The quality seemed to fall away once I started taking it down pixel wise and reducing the jpeg quality in order to hit the correct file size for the competition.
I might give it another bash as the original print looks great.

I agree with Steve. It looks like a fantastic view but ruined by a poor quality picture quality.

Well, I've given it another go and the scan seems much better this time. I went for a lower resolution output straight from the scanner rather than going for a high one and then reducing it in photoshop. I also turned off the auto dust removal/finishing tools which probably helped.

Nice composition, love the colour of the sea.
