Anthraxed Out

I've never posted to anything like this and I'm a muppet with a camera but what the heck!

I dug out my old Canon EOS50E and took this shot of Gruinard Bay, made famous by Gruinard "Anthrax" Island, two weekends ago on the way from Skye to Ullapool.

This is from the Kodak Photo CD. The only manipulation is Photoshop's auto-contrast. The film is Fuji Superia 200.

Cheers!

You know, I was just looking at this with my laptop screen tilted and thus the contrast was lower that when looking head on. When i tilted it back the picture seemed to lose some of it's impact. With the 'contrast' taken down the main focal point was the curve of the beach, the trees on the right hand side were almost blacked out and it really worked.

I still have a 50e, superb camera, unfortunately it hasn't been used for some time
Like the way the beach leads the eye round to the right then the tree line and mountains countinue to lead you further into the shot!
For me if there was more interest in the sky it would hold together better though, ND grads would have helped possibly, it is a beautiful part of the country

Thanks for the kind feedback guys. I took another, zoomed-in abstract shot of the pebble beach/shore from the same height, which I was going to enter here. It was a toss up between the two. Agree the sky let it down. I need to get hold of some grad filters and learn how to use them!
