Abit KT7 motherboard(RAID version)
512MB PC133 RAM
Asus AGP V7700 Ge-Force-II DDR Deluxe (32MBversion)
Memorex DVD/CD-RW combi drive
46GB HD
Soundblaster 1024
iiyama pro510 22" monitor.
Windows 2000 OS

I'm assuming I'm covered any suggestions?
Its not really for watching movies on but I figure in about 3 years I might be feeding it into a projector. Audio isn't a priority at the moment.
I know jack about PCs other than what I found out to put the above spec together.

In three years time it is unlikely that you will be using that machine in that configuration anymore...

512Mb Ram is overkill for all except the most diehard techie NT Oracle programmers ... 128Mb is generally enough for most things, 256Mb is more than enough, 384Mb (what I have) is silly but the memory was very cheap at the time and one of the guys that I bought a 128Mb stick for dropped out so I kept it.

The 46Gb hard disc is probably more than you need now unless you're planning to rip movies to the hard disc and play them from there. If you're looking for sheer numbers then there's a nice 75Gb 7,200 rpm drive from IBM which is very quick however also very pricey for an IDE drive.

Agreed - in three years time your PC will be obsolete.

Yes which is why I'll be using it to run prog scaled dvd into a projector.

Initially its for compositing motion picture film res images and maybe a bit of 3D in Maya hence the ram (I could do with a gig but thats my max at the mo)
