Little fella gets to work, only to have a bit of an ocean roller go for him...

I like the idea, i think maybe a tighter crop would bring the eye to the child more which would increase the imapct for me.

I messed around with the crop on this one for ages - I know what you mean! I thought that if cropped too tight on the left there was no space for him to "run in to", spoiling the movement. If I cropped any tighter on the right, I lost the footprints story. I wanted to retain the whole story - spade in, walk to sea, wave, run.

I really like this. I think it would be perfect if your son was looking to camera with a worried look on his face. But still a top shot.

Thanks! Yes, a worried face would be good, but have you tried directing a 2.5 year old??? :)
I like that you can't see his face, it's like he's checking the progress of the tide, or has just done a double take.
I like it

He was actually surprised by (and running away from) the crashing wave!
Oh i know mate;) i mean it looks like he's checking the progress of the tide whi;e he's trying to get away. That's why i think it's better he's looking at the wave:)

He's a hilarious little dude, and this was his very first encounter in his tiny little life with a crashing wave. I love it, because it captures that fraction of a second learning moment.
Ta, Zone!
