Hi
I am after a 4 input, 4 output S-video and audio matrix switcher with IR control to route any of 4 sources to any of 4 zones. I have found a Kramer but it is very expensive and does not have IR control.
I have found a composite video one but I would really like one capable of S-video.
Anyone seen one ?
Thanks in advance.

Hi
I have a Sony PVS 880S matrix switcher. It is 8 input/output for composite of which 4 of the inputs/outputs can also switch S-video. I cannot remember whether there is conversion between composite and s-video. It is a broadcast item so of very high quality. Unfortunately it does not have IR control but does have RS232 control and a number of memories to hold pre configures routes. It is also quite large, about the size of a large power amp.
PM me for more info if you are interested - or anyone else for that matter but it may be overkill if you are looking for a smaller 4 input/output unit.

Its always fun seeing folk accusing Kramer Electronics of being expensive - in this market they offer about the best value for money you can get.
A key consideration for you is how long the cable runs your planning are - anything over 15m and you should factor in a distribution system that includes variable line drive on each output.
If you require IR control of the Kramer VS-4x4YC it is possible to add a third party IR to RS232 controller to the Kramer unit (more money but does what you require).
Best regards

Kramer and expensive are two words that don't normally go together. GREAT value, I'm a big fan.
