I've looked at a couple of these sets in superstores, and I had considered one myself. While these are undoubtedly good value at typically £699 or cheaper on the net, I was comparing the sound with my Panasonic TX-33A1 (now with a very failing tube), and I was very disappointed to say the least. The inboard speakers on the TX-36PL32 just don't do the rest of the set justice.
Also, visually, the TV is very much like a monolith, looks like it's been carved out of stone! Now if you are happy with the TV's looks, and either don't mind putting up with slightly disappointing sound, or intend to go with externally hitched speakers, then do consider this set. It also has picture-in-picture (via AV source) which is an added bonus.
