Toshiba 46WH08 Lens Clean

Having rather neglected my Tosh RPTV for the last year or more, I decided it might be a good idea to take off the front and check for any dust on top of the projection lenses.
There turned out to be a noticeable coating on all three lenses and after very gently wiping this off, the result on the picture quality has been surprising to say the least.
I must have been happily watching TV through a foggy haze for months and now I remember how gobsmacked I was when the set arrived in 2002.
I know most owners of such RPTVs are already aware that the optics need cleaning occasionally but it's so easy to forget and I'll bet many sets are never checked at all.
