Nw-hd3

I have a new computer and I can not get it to see my NW-HD3. I've tried downloading the drivers from the sony uk website, connectingit all up but nothing. Where can I get a copy of the original install CD?

Ta.

My understanding is that you have to buy it from Sony - and they charge you A LOT for it. Don't know how true this is ...

Oh dear - maybe I had better have another go at hunting the disk down.

I can see the hard drive on the walkman, just can not get Sonic Stage to see it as something it can transfer too.

V Frustrating.

http://forums.minidisc.org/downloads/index.php

Has a full download for offline installation of SS3.1.

You need to register on the forum before you can download it.

I tried it on a streamlined install of Win 2k. The main program loaded ok but some of the extra SS bits had some trouble with missing codecs (Windows codecs I think). Anyway for me on this install, SS itself worked OK, couldn't load up the simple burner though.
I have to admit that I'd messed about with Win 2K A LOT and only played about with the SS install for a very short time (very early on a Saturday morning so not the best time ), so it may very well work perfectly for you.

In any case it's probably worth a shot given your present situation. Good Luck!

p.s. Please back up everything before trying this!!

Would I be right in thinking that the licence for the CD would be the purchase of the player ?

So if someone copied the cd for him, it'd be ok, because he obiously already has a licence for the CD because he bought the player ?

Or is that not how it'd work ?

Why don't you phone Sony and give them the serial number of the player and plead with them to let you have a copy of the original CD ? Alternatively, where did you buy it from ? Can they help you out ?

I don't understand...why do you need the original CD?

Can't you just download SS if you want it?
