Help me to find an LCD TV stand

I've been looking for an LCD stand for about a week now, been to every website I can find. I still have not found what I am looking for. I am just about to order an Samsung LE32R41BDX 32" LCD TV. I want a stand that is not wall mount or desktop mount, but floor mount! I have found one stand I like but it's just under £500 which is way to much ( it was the Axia Lo-Level Stand, at www.unicol.com ) This is the style of stand I am looking for but there does not seam to be many arrounf.

My requirement are
Must be floorstanding, holding the TV at eye height when sitting on a sofa.
Must have a cable tidy feature
Must have at least 1 shelf to hold my center speaker.

Anybody got any ideas ??????

Oh, ore info

My reason for a stand like this is I don't see the point in getting a nice thin TV then putting it on a deep glass stand. My reason for getting an LCD tv was to take up less room so the stand needs to a thin. The only thing I need to put on it is the center speaker and I could always put that somewhere else if I found a nice stand that wouldn't accomadate it. All my other kit ( amp, video, etc ) is on a Hi-Fi Rack.

Thanks for any help in advance

Unfortunately I looked into this , and all the stuff available was way too trendy and expensive.

Luckily I have loads of junk, so I needed an under TV cabinet AND a hi-fi tall cabinet.

It will probably be cheaper to sell your hi-fi rack and just put all your gear and centre speaker in a cabinet that the TV sits on.

Thanks for the quick reply Cyril. That will not work though. Where the Hi-Fi stand is I have room for the depth, where the TV is going to go I only have a few cm's to play with. That's why I'm buying and LCD TV, cus my current CRT swamps the room and leaves me little room.

I have found some more arround the £200 mark, but they only support up to a 26" LCD and the TV I am going to buy is 32"

What about this, what do people think of this? http://www.hifistore.co.uk/product.p...od=ECLIPSELCD#

It doesn't say what size tv it supports, but say's up to 20Kg. The TV I am about to buy is only 17.8 Kg

So what do poeple think would this solve my stand problems ? or is a 32" lcd to bif for this ?

I think that the Unicol solution is the best looking and it is definitly the best made. Still a good British engineering firm and well worth the money.

I suppose you get what you pay for. Unicol are good and solid but expensive.

That one from hifistore.co.uk is cheap. But whether it is well-built and good quality is another thing - you should see it in the flesh before buying unless the store has a good returns policy.

http://www.standanddeliver.com/acata...s.html&actinic has an even cheaper stand!

My plasma is just sitting against the wall on a bench at the moment as I thought I would rather spend the £500 on some hard disks for my PC and TiVos.

I might just make my own stand out of MDF and paint it black or wenge.
Should only cost about £30. It will be 85% hidden by the sideboard below it.

LCD floor stand

have been looking around for a LCD floor stand myself.

I've found this website: www.mode-al.com

lots of options and the quality looks good - quite expensive though....but as already mentioned - you get what you pay for...........

Have you thought of spectral racks - they're a German company and they make some of the nicest racks I've come across - definitely work a look!

try here for the spectral site.

Tob3z here is a picture if the stand I like, but I don't think I will find anything like this in my budget. I have a black glass Stand for my DVD player and Hi-Fi seperates to I might look for a low level black glass stand for the TV to match.

Here is the Axia Lo-Level Stand

Ahh I see. Black glass is nice and I know what you mean. Im looking for something slightly like that. But with more space/shelfs to put my Amp/Xbox/Xbox 360/DVD/Gamecube on.

You can kiss my shinny metal ass if you think I am paying £350 for em though.

But they are the nicest stands I have found. There completely different from what your looking for, but you have to admit... there nice.
