Need Help w/Ghetto DVR: Powermac 5400/180 from 1996

I'm new to this site, and I'm probably not posting in the right forum, but oh well.
I've got a 1996 Powermac with an RCA input. It has built in software with mac os 8.5
My problem is that I'd like to record TV on this computer, like a DVR. I need to know how to get cable TV into an RCA form to put into the computer. My TV I have is an old 13" JVC with no outputs. Will an RF modulator work, or do I need a VCR, or something else. PLEASE HELP ME!

Thanks: Gave 90, Got 261
I suspect that you are based in North America - where the term "RCA" is commonly used for what we tend to call "phono".
In that case you will find folk more used to the equipment you have in the USA A/V forums at www.avsforums.com
