Hi, is it making this noise whilst its powering up or down or is it making the noise during normal operations ? If its the former then that is the eht 'coming up' (or going down) and by and large that's perfectly normal - it does sound like static. However, if its making the noise during normal operation then that's more unusual - it could be an indication that the eht is 'tracking' across a low resistance path inside the set, you might expect this on an 'old' telly since dust and dirt will provide a low resistance path - however as your telly is new that wont be the reason/cause. If in doubt, consult your retailer. Regards, yt.
