Head is spinning, which DVD recorder.??

I'm going round circles trying to decide which DVD recorder to get.!!

For me the most important thing is the play back quaility of the films, the recorder side I really want just to replace the video recorder and so doesn't have to be fantastic quality.

My current DVD player is a pioneer 340, it's getting a bit worn now and is having trouble playing copied films, jerks and hops alot and then locks up.

Have a Panasonic plasma TH42PA30 so I want component out put to that.
Have a digital recieve and a sky + box (no sky subscription so can't record to box's own disc) and would like to record from both if possible.

Budget around £300 to £350.

Have been looking at the Panasonic DMR EH50 or the Sony GXD500.

Would have to be DVD -R compatible aswell.

Thanks for any advice.
My head hurts.!!

Have a look at the 'Which DVD Recorder?' link in my signature. In particular you should decide if you want a model with a HDD or not!
