GUIDE: LG RH7500 DVD Recorder Hard Drive Upgrade

Well, I thought I'd just go ahead and try it myself and it worked fine. Upgraded a RH7500 80GB unit to 250GB :D

Check out my basic guide here.

Top guide - why not repost it as part of the FAQ sticky at the top of the forum?

John - is the increased storage space reported by the DVDR itself, or your calculations? I ask because some HDD upgrades won't go beyond a certain capacity, despite the HDD being basically compatible.

It's reported by the unit itself The numbers in the guide are not calculated, all reported by the unit before and after upgrade.

Well done !!!

It is great to see that LG HDD/DVD recorder just could simply "plug & play" to replace the HDD without the need to patch with firmware/service manual/setup disk ...etc. as required on pioneer !!?
