Multiregion DVD player/recorder on a PAL TV?

I'm getting a Philips 28PW6518 and I'd like to get a region-free DVD player/recorder, largely to play the R1 DVDs I brought with me from the States. The TV doesn't seem to be NTSC-compatible, but I'm not sure if that means it won't accept input from a PAL multiregion DVD player playing a R1 DVD. Do multiregion DVD players in the UK typically do that conversion internally so that whatever region you're playing, the output is PAL-friendly? Or will a multiregion player just output whatever format the DVD is (R1->NTSC, R2->PAL)?

If the DVD player needs to do some sort of special conversion to work with a PAL-only TV, can someone recommend one? I've been looking at these, but I'm not sure if they'll work in this situation..

Panasonic DMRES10
Lg DR7800
Lg DR4810 Silver

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

pretty much all modern TVs in this country will display and NTSC signal from a multi region DVD player. As long as the player is connected via a scart lead to the tv it wont be a problem.
Even if the player does not output and RGB signal the tv should still be able to display NTSC via svideo and or composite as well.
