Question Sky Plus In Apartment Block - Only has 1 sky feed

I'm due to move into my new apartment. The only problem is there's only 1 feed for sky - what options do I have to allow me to keep my sky plus box? Is it possible to have sky plus working from 1 feed, can I split the cable etc. etc???

Many thanks,
Rik.

There is no way of splitting one feed... you need two feeds so either you get the landlord to supply another feed or you put your own dish up (which will probably violate the lease). Sorry.

It seems you might have to make do with a regular Sky box (and the superior TIVo of course ) and/or get a Freeview PVR , or NTL or Telewest (once again with a TiVo).

Have a search, apparently people have set up Sky+ with just one feed - but in a limited capacity. You can still time-shift and record on the fly, but you can't record two programs at once. Also setting up a future recording involves setting up a "dummy" recording first which it will fail on, but it can be done.

You can piggy back two Sat signals on a single cable and then "split" them out. Requires non-too-cheap hardware though.

See http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/page1b.htm

It may be cheaper to drag through Shotgun cable to replace the single cable if the run is not too long.
