Thumbs up Samsung DVD-R122

This hack works on my DVD-R122 and should also work on the DVD-R100 and DVD-R120
1 Without Disk , press '0' 4 times.
2 Press 'Repeat'
3 Press 3,8,7,6,7
4 After that you can see Number 2 (European Regional Code) in Upper left side.
5 Press '9' for All Regions or '1' to '6' for specific regions and then 2 will be changed into the number you select.
6 Press 'Open' then 'Close'
Total process should be completed in 30 seconds.

Hi PaulHulatt , I tried this hack on my Samsung DVD R100 but without success. I would appreciate it if you would go through each and every step taken. These are the steps I took:-
1. Turned on TV (27" LCD).
2. Turned on R100, Scart AV2 auto selected. Can see TV channel selected on R100 tuner on AV2.
3. Made sure that there was no disc in the machine, press '0' four times on R100 remote control. All that happened was the the TV station toggled between PR '0' and PR '3'.
4. Press 'Repeat' on R100 remote control.
5. Press 3,8,7,6,7 on R100 remote control - only PR '07' appeared in the top left hand corner.

I am doing something wrong but don't know where. Thanks in advance.

Folks

The Hack at the top of this Forum is for a Player Purchased in Region 2

If your Player is Purchased in another Region then the Numbers in step 3 will need to be different

Here are the Codes for different Regions

RC 1: 2, 9, 3, 3, 4
RC 2: 3, 8, 7, 6, 7 (or 5,7,5,3,8 )
RC 3: 5, 6, 7, 3, 2
RC 4: 7, 6, 8, 8, 4
RC 5: 5, 3, 8, 1, 4
RC 6: 2, 4, 4, 6, 2

Remember these codes are for the Region the Player was purchased in ...not to actually select the Region

The region select screen appears after the correct code is applied

So for example if your Player is Purchased in Region 1 then the codes in step 3 should read 2,9,3,3,4 ...NOT 3,8,7,6,7

Also Note there are Two Repeat Buttons on the Remote Control, Use the Bottom Right hand One. Do NOT confuse yourself with the "Repeat A-B"
Button.

Hope this helps

Re: Samsung DVD-R122

I'm way behind doing this, but the hack doesnt seem to work for me. I do everything as suggested, but the number 2 doesnt appear after I have entered the numbers. Nothing appears. I have tried 4 zeros and 5 zeros and with both R2 codes and the R1 code. I guess I could try the other region codes? My remote seems to be a bit different as well, as the Repeat button is bottom but central left, not right and there is no other Repeat A B button. Can anyone help?

Re: Samsung DVD-R122

Hi, before you do anything, make sure you have pressed TV/DVD on the remote control (next to the 0 button) until the DVD player display says 'TV'- then you can enter the codes (took me ages to work this out!)

Hope this helps..

Re: Samsung DVD-R122

Having trouble getting this to work on my g/f's unit.

Followed the instructions (including getting it to display "TV" before-hand,) but no luck.

Any other thoughts?

Cheers.

Re: Samsung DVD-R122

Thanks for the tip on making sure the DVD player was set to 'TV' first. This worked a treat ..... except I had to make sure it was set to 'DVD' first on mine rather than 'TV'!
