has anyone heard these surround speakers yet and if so are they any good? many thanks jimmy.
j. I've not heard them but I have the 77ds.
They sound excellent and comparing the technical data (how much time do I have http://www.homecinemachoice.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif ) between the two, the 78's have 1/2 litre more volume capacity(4.5l)better frequency response and power handling....oh and they look fantastic. In conclusion, these speakers will sound gorgeous.

Jimmy, I don't wish to sound pedantic but I should point out the the Mission 78DS are actually bi-poles and not di-poles. Quite why Mission call their bi-polar speakers "DS" is anyone's guess.

'Diffuse Surround' is the reason.
I've got two pairs of 77ds's they sound really good. I much prefer them to monopoles even though I thought that I'd prefer the direct sound of the monopoles - they end up drawing attention to themselves too much.
Friend has just got 78DS they do sound even better..... little bit better bass response. Not as good as two sets of 77's though! Hope that's some help.
