Can I View Freeview (Not FreeSat) Channels With a Sky Digibox?

Hi there,

I just cancelled my Sky subscription when I discovered E4 was available on freeview. I thought I would be able to view all Freeview channels using my Sky Digibox. Now that the cancellation has taken effect I discover that I cannot recieve E4. I gave Sky a call and I have been told that I can only recieve FreeSat which does not include E4.

Is there a way for me to recieve Freeview channels using my digibox?

E4 is indeed encrypted via the $ky satellite medium.
What you have is Freesat , not Freeview.

The original Freeview medium is terrestrial and not receivable with a satellite receiver as it requires a COFDM tuner - not QPSK as is used for digital satellite.
It also uses totally different frequency ranges (UHF about 480-830 MHz rather than the 10700-12700 MHz used for satellite).

So the 2 are totally incompatible at the RF level or physical layer.

You ca buy a Freeview box for connection to your existing TV aerial for around 30-40 quid these days.
