Hack for ScanMagic PL617 Portable DVD

I need a hack for coverting my ScanMagic PL617 Portable DVD player to make it region free. While the box or manual doesn't say so, this player may be manufactured by Mustek (based only on the fact that some of Mustek's models include the word "Scanmagic"). Anyway, if you can provide a hack for this player, please do so.

Even though the ScanMagic PL617 is not listed on their web-site, the Mustek technical service people confirmed that the ScanMagic PL617 is a "Special Edition" Mustek model.
