Post centre speaker placement/vibration

My centre speaker is sitting on top of the TV.

Occasionally I detect vibration via the television casing.

Can you suggest anything to put between the speaker and the TV to prevent this?

Also where do you place your centre speaker for maximum clarity?

Thanks

Rob

Put some kind of padding under the speaker (rubber or foam) or mount it on a bracket over the TV (tilt if required) unless you can fit it in the cabinet underneath. Might sound boxy though ...

I put a shelf about 8-10 inches above the TV and set ~1ft back from the LR speakers because it sounded very 'forward' and I didn't like the way the TV looked with the centre speaker on top . What I found was that this *really* helped the centre speaker blend in with the front two. The only reason I can think of is that I'm now equidistant from each speaker, whatever it is, it definitely sounds a lot better.
I have heard that you shouldn't do this because you could get reflections of the top of the TV however I say trust your ears..

Mac.

Most of us use blu tac. Stops vibration and fixes it safely in place too.
