Printer network

Hi,

I have a D-link dsl G604t wireless ADSL router, which enables me to connect to the internet, along with my laptop and other pc upstaires. This all works well.

Now, heres the problem I brought a Epsom photot R300 printer yesterday loaded software on all three pc's which all works fine if connected via usb. In my wisdom I also brought a Belkin print server thinking i could use all pc's to print wireless. I have installed, and all seems fine. The only connection is usb from print server to printer (assuming that no other connections are needed due to wireless connection). I can't print at all from any pc at all. I have enabled printer sharing in printer properties. Is there anything else i need to look at?

As this is driving me nuts!!!

You have to find out what the IP address is of the print server. If you have the skills make this a reserved address in your DHCP server. Otherwise configure it wit a static address.

Once you have done this you need to add another printer. Select Local printer and click next. Select Create a new port and then, from the drop down list, select Standard TCP/IP Port. Assuming it is turned on click next. Enter the IP address and click next.

When I "hit" the reset button on the print server it prints off a congratulations report, which details all info,

as follows

I hasven't filled in the answers to the above, as not sure if that is wise.

But from the above info does this give me answers to what you mentioned in your post?

Did the print server come with a manual? If not, I suggest you enable DHCP and take it from there. Configure the router to reserve that address.

Hi Dave

I don't believe this, I went to manufacturers website after reading about various problems from people who have also brought this product, I was just about ready the throw in the towel when i downloaded latest drivers and.........bingo it works!!! Even on the laptop as well. I've yet to try it on third pc, but so far, i'm chuffed to bits.

I really thought I was getting out of my depth Thankyou for your advice.
