DLP TV dimensions

I'm still working on the wife over how large a TV I can buy and I've offered to cut a sheet of cardboard to the size of the largest I'm considering so she can see the impact of the set on the room.

Our lounge is 18ft long so I think 50in is about right.

The problem is I've just had a look around and dimensions sometimes include the stand or only quote the diagonal, so can anybody help me?

what I would like to know is the hight and width of the following brands, not including stand, speakers or base unit please?

Samsung SP50L7HX
Samsung SP46L6
Sagem HD D45
Toshiba 46wm48p
Themescene RD65
Optoma themescene rd50
Sagem Axium HD-D56B 56 Inch DLP TV
Sagem Axium 50-inch

I don't expect to get them all but a few will enable me to convince the other half. Thanks in advance

If you do a search on this forum you should find just about all of the dimensions you're looking for. They've all been posted here at some point.

Here's a useful webpage that calculates the height and width of a screen given the diagonal screen size. It also tells you how much bigger picture area you're going to enjoy with your lovely new set, if you enter the screen size of your current set. Very nice.
