Forget the Lowe, its too reflective and too small. Try either the RD65 or the Sony. I will be going to the AV show (you cant miss me ), cheers for the info. I'm glad to hear that your thinking of getting rid of the LG

I heard that sony will be charging £8,000-00 for this display. If it is true its typical Sony big screen price. Kourosh do you know the retail on the 70' Sony?

Sorry Guys,
Sony don't make a 70" DLP! The make a 70" SXRD Rear TV which is a very different from DLP.

However the Qualia 006, as it is called, has been getting rave reviews in the US. I hope it is this set they are bringing to the UK market.

Quiet right its not a DLP but there are a few fans in this DLP section that have adopted it.

They are not bringing in the 70" qualia. The UK launch to selected dealers was to be last Thursday, 7/7. It was cancelled at last moment for obvious reasons. I was on the guest list thanks to Forum member and one of my dealers who I do calibration work for...thanks X3ELS. The 55" unit is coming as is a LCD flat panel and the mighty 004 projector......if get more info I'll let you know. The new launch presentation is sometime in August I believe.

I've seen the 70 but only with HD. It looks superb with BluRay......but who knows how it'd look with SD material....My main interest is the projector.....

Qualia and normal Sony stuff is like two seperate brands. Qualia in USA has dedicated staff in dedicated home theatre rooms off the main show floor. It's HI-END. I have no idea about Sony's run of the mill products. Not because I am not interested but more because I've nto been asked to look in to it and there are only so may hours in the day.......

Qualia I am interested in.....at least some of the brand.....I don't particularily care about Qualia headphones....

So why no 70 incher for the UK. Too few units (will sell) to make it worth putting in a PAL tuner maybe? Gimme a break for the price these sets will be they can put in dual tuners without affecting sales one iota.
(I have a cynical hunch its for other reasons...)

I think i saw that 70 in disney epcot two weeks ago, on the ultimate home theather show/ride. And it looked great. I think it was that one anyway, was kind of hard to tell what set it was, but i imagine it was that one.
