Red face Sony Ericsson P900 & 128 Memory stick duo....

Can anyone help me....
I have just bought 128mb Official Memory Stick Duo for my Sony Ericsson P900. And Like with most things, ive tried formatting the card or even getting the phone to recognise it, but no luck so far!
Can anyone help or tell me what im doing wrong?

I presume you are formatting it in the phone and not by the PC?

Does the phone read another MS OK?

Have you tried wiping the contacts on the MS or jigging it about in the slot?

Unhappy p900

Yes ive connected the docking unit to my pc.
The phone reads the 32mb card that came in the box.

I can't see the relevence of a PC connection - the phone should be able to read and format the card itself.

If after cleaning and jigging it, the P900 does not detect the card at all, then the card may be faulty. Try the card in another phone or Sony camera (a shop may help if you don't know any other owners)

Unhappy

Thx for the tips, ive tried wiggling the memory card around abit when inside the phone but it still reads as corrupt. I inserted it into my adaptor and tried it in my Sony TRV22 Camcorder, which it recognises. I dunno i guess the phone just isnt gonna read it. Will have to make do with the 32mb.

Two other things to try

Update the P900 firmware from the SE website

or

Check out the P900 forum on www.esato.com

I think only the P910 can read a 128mb (or larger card), the 900 firmware can't do it.

I had a 128 card in my P900, and it was the largest size it could read.

The P910 can read upto 2GB cards (IIRC) - I can confirm that it works with 1GB no problem.
