JAMO DVD-593 Multi-Region Hack

Here are the instruction I received from the Australian JAMO distributor to make my DVD-593 Region FREE. After doing the following procedure, I can now view R1 and R4 discs I previously could not

1. Turn machine ON
2. Press MENU
3. Press DOWN ARROW once
4. Press 0 (number Zero) 0 = Multi-Region
5. Press MUTE
6. Press PREVIOUS (Chapter/Track)
7. Press NEXT (Chapter/Track)
8. Press OK

After this, your machine MAY turn ON the Parental Lock. If it does, do the following:

1. Press MENU
2. Press DOWN ARROW - Scroll down until you get to the 'key' symbol
3. Press RIGHT ARROW - To get across to 'parental'
4. Press RIGHT ARROW - Gets you to 'enter code'
5. Press 1 2 3 4
6. Press DOWN ARROW - Scroll down until you get to 'no parental'
7. Press OK
8. Press MENU - To get you back to start - You are now finished

Is the JAMO 593 DVD Player RCE proof meaning will it play RCE/REA (region code enhanced) DVD discs? If not is there a way to make it RCE proof

Maybe another question for the Jamo fans.
In the beginning, srt-subtitels worked fine, but it isn't anymore.

The srt-files work fine on my PC. Any idea ?

I tried the hack steps listed and it worked. If is ptu the DVD player in standby mode the DVD player is set back to it's original area code, I mean I have to redo the steps to set it to region 0. Can somebody please help.
