Lite On DVR/VCR Combo Hack

Hi all,

just joining the club!

I've bought a LITE ON DVD recorder model LVC - 9006 in the US and the overall quality is excellent, although the brand itself is basically unknown everywhere.

Problem is that here in Brazil the assigned region is # 4, but as all gears for the US market, it comes ready for # 1 region only.

Does anybody knows a hack as to make it region free?

By the way, for some brands ( Philips, LG, Toshiba, Samsung, Cougar...), we have instructions in how to make them region free, just by the remote control.

Should that be of anyone's interest, just le me know.

The same hack as used with earlier LiteOn models worked for my
new LVC-9006. Go to the setup screen; scroll down to EXIT; enter
the numbers 2960; a Region Menu screen will appear; Select "(0)"
or Region Free; then press Setup Screen to exit. The machine is
now Region Free.
