Samsung sp50lh7x model no.breakdown help needed

Hi I wonder if any of you dlp nuts out there can breakdown and explain the different model no. differences i.e. the diffrence between l3 and l7 etc?
I obviously am aware they are older and newer models respectively, but I am curious as to the revisions and improvements made along the line.. i.e. dlp chip generations, and tweaks made to these sammys since their first iterations.

Also does anyone know the main differences between the new soon to be released 50" and the current lh7 cheers!
p.s. my model code is lh7xx/xec whatdoes the xec relate to?
