Buzz coming from speakers

Came home from work and heard a buzzing sound when I went into the main living room, and discovered it was coming from my speakers.
This is with the volume to its lowest output.

I think the problem might be the electricity in the air, due to the thunder storms during the day round this area.

I hope it's nothing more serious, and will disappear over the next day or so.

I have played a cd and it sounds alright, until there is a slight pause when the next track is about to be played.

Does anyone know if this could be the problem?

Thanks
