can anyone help me identify this movie please

I remember when i was really young (about 12 years old) i sneaked downstairs late one night and watched this movie. if i remember rightly it was an italian movie with subtitles and the story was this:

a number of people in a cinema watching a western movie, the is a gunfight (on screen) and when the guys on film fire, one person in the audience dies froma gunshot wound

the police are called and they re-run the film, i think the police guy sits in the chair that the previous guy gets killed in and he sees that the guy on screen is pointing his gun at him (he gets paranoid at this) and runs around the movie place.

the guy on screen, well his gun follows the police guy and guns him down.

from my description it sounds really poor, but i remember it was quite exciting at the time, a lind of weird horror type movie really

can anyone help?

definately not blazing saddles, this was an Italian film with Subtitles, it was not a western movie, it was in a cinema that was showing a western movie

Maybe one of the Bud Spencer/Terence Hill 'Trinity' films?
They were Italian, comedy but were westerns....

nope, thats not it, the film i saw was NOT a western, it was a thriller/horror film set in a cinema. the only connection it has with a western, was that was the kind of film playing in the cinema
