got the tv now what

hello all,

trying to get an answer to my quandry..................

just purchased a samsung lcd with hdmi capabilities, at this point i would like to point out, i am not a gamer, so will only be using tv for ordinary use etc
my question is regarding audio equipment, i am looking at buying a panasonic xr70 due to its hdmi properties

is this a worthy stopgap until the proper hd stuff comes out or am i best waiting until ALL manufacturers get on the hdmi bus???
