It wasn't that long ago that we were celebrating 40,000 members, 50,000 members and 1,000,000 posts yet even after a recent pruning of members who hadn't logged in for yonks plus a clearout of the debris from General Chat we have reached yet another milestone.

60,000 members and still averaging over 125 new members every day so it's 10,000 new members every quarter and that's some going.

We're having a new server - or rather two - in Q3 or very early Q4.
All depends on how quickly our ad salesman joins and starts selling advertising.
Note the new Sony ad in the Camcorder forum as a taster.
I think that by December, we'll be back to 150 people joining a day.
From now until November, I reckon we'll carry on at an average of 120 per day.
120 * 30 days * 4 months = 14,400.
November, I reckon we'll be up to 135 a day
135 * 30 * 1 = 4,050
And December 150 a day
150 * 30 * 1 = 4,500
So a total of 22,950. Add that to our 60,500 odd people right now and we have a projected 83,500 odd.
I think we'll be lucky to have 100,000 before the end of 2005.

I wonder when saturation point will be reached - when the number of people needing AV advice reaches it's peak and then declines.

Hopefully not for quite a while yet
