Toshiba TV making high pitched whistling noise

Guys,

My old(ish) Toshiba 28W23B in my bedroom has started making a high pitched whistling/screaming noise which is getting worse by the day!

Am guessing that it's the line output transformer - any other ideas? Any suggestions for sites that sell tv parts?

Cheers

Does a tap on the chassis make any difference? Could be a vibration problem, glue gone off

Nah, I gave it a good kicking but that didn't help!

Any recommendations for places that sell tv spares?

Hi, but it could be anything, you haven't tracked it down to a component yet ? it could be the LOPT but equally it could be a simple faulty electrolytic capacitor. (LOPT's can be obtained from CPC.co.uk) My advice is not to take the back off unless you are experienced in TV repair work. Not very helpful I know but my advice is meant in the best spirit. Regards, yt.
