I recently (5 months ago) purchased an Onkyo DS 777 THX Select receiver. I brought it on the recomendation of Mark at LMD audio in Margate who has attended the THX instalation course at Skywalker ranch. So if he thought it was good, then it must be. I recently visited Onkyo's website to find that the 777 has been replaced by the 787, which is THX EX surround equiped. I am all in favour of company's improving their products, but after 5 months!! Is this really necassary? Mark swears blind he didn't know that the wew model was being produced and the Onkyo rep is very tight lipped about the whole affair. I have E - mailed Onkyo but to my supprise they haven't answered me.
If any of you out there are looking at buying the Onkyo 777, DON'T!! Go for the Denon instead!
