respraying AV rack
Hi I have a black sounds organisation rack with smoked glass that i want to spray silver/chrome.
I know I can buy the cans of paint to respray it but for the paint to 'take' it obviously needs a 'key' to attach to which they advise by rubbing down the metalwork otherwise the paint will not stick. But I am sure I read that you can actually get a spray that will form the 'key' for the paint to sit on? Does anyone know of this or if anyone has any other advice to do this I would be grateful. Thanks Martin. |

You will need to prep the surface so the paint has something to key to, just 'scotch' the surface 1st, making sure you dont miss a bit ! & then paint, followed ideally by lacquering for the best finish

I Haven't bought any paint yet. I wanted to get answer on the preparation first. But there are numerous spray cans available in all the DIY places so I don't think you will have much trouble especially as you re going from silver to black. By the way how are you intending to prepare the surface first?
