Post Sneak preview of the TAG AV192R

<a href="http://www.tagmclarenaudio.com/dev/news/news102.asp" target="_blank">Have a look here...</a>

Looks very nice, it'll be interesting to see how the implement the DVI stuff (copy protection etc.) and if they can make it useable for people with non Tag based DVD players.

Mac.

What an ugly duckling! First I thought this was a joke looking at the way it was written ...

Have to agree Reiner. TAG have ruined one of the sexiest pieces of kit on the market.

Is there some reason the video scaling part couldn't go into a separate box?

They should have given up on recycling the front facia. Then they could have provided an improved display panel (that doesn't wear out) and we could have ended up with an attractive box, albeit for a little more dosh.

Oh well, at least it will doubtless be a stunner from the performance point of view...

As quoted in the the link, they're not in a position to say until it's closer tp the launch date.

I went to a Tag demo in Liverpool last week and their guy there told me that it'll have the Snell & Willcox video doings inside....

Ask Gordon, he'll know all about Snell & Willcox!

Spoke to a Tag dealer today about the forthcoming AV192. He seemed to think the price is likely to be around the £6-8K mark Of course this is purely speculation and might well be incorrect. Even taking into account a trade-up program that still leaves a serious ammount of money to find. Guess we will have to wait and find out.
