Tannoy floorstanders, Can I mount them anywhere else than the floor ?

Hiya all,

I have a pair of Tannoy floorstanders 622D30s, however I would like to build a unit on either side of my firebreast to house my kit etc, is it possible to sit the Tannoys on top of the unit, I have them set to small I think on the amp as I use the Kef sub for the bass.

Any advice welcome

Taz

Wouldn't the tweeters fire about 5 feet over your head? Not so good for imaging.

Didnt think about that, lol, but I was hoping to have the shelf sort of staggered if you know what I mean, about 12-18" high max for the speakers the unit for the hi-fi kit will be higher but that will be beside the firebreast, the speakers will be by the outside walls.

Either that or can anyone recommend a pair of good replacements

Taz

Hi m8, I think my mordaunts are the Declaration series not the Advants, is there any dis-advantage having the decs alongside the Avant 902 's for instance or do I need to go for the whole set of Avants ?

Cheers
