Using Aegos direct with amp

Hi

I have an Aego P5 set up which I think is fantastic especially for a bargain $299.

However I was wondering if anyone had ever tried using the Aego speakers without the sub and processor and connecting speakers directly to a receiver with a different sub. (as opposed to using pre-outs)

Could I blow the system ? Anyone tried or currently using ? Anything I need to look out for before trying ?
