Question How many £££'s to fit a new aerial?

My chimney mounted aerial pole is loose-ish and is rubbinmg / eating into the chimney brickwork. The aerial is old and probably could do with something more modern. The wire from the aerial is brittle and shot.

So... How much should I pay for...

1. New Aerial (freeview capable)
2. New lashings for current pole
3. Cable replaced to rear bedroom
4. Cable replaced to front room
5. Fitting of above

Currently been quoted £120-£150. Is this reasonable?

Many thanks for your advice.

Rich,

Sounds pretty fair to me.

Ask for a decent guarantee.

Hard to say, because each job is different, but if it includes the bits, then it doesn't sound unreasonable. Personally, I would avoid chimney mountings unless it's unavoidable, because chimneys are incredibly weak structures. I prefer a good solid wall mount with Rawlbolts.

Hi.

Just had a new aerial fitted myself.
Wideband DAT45,

New pole, and chimney lashing kit.
New downleads etc, etc

Good dependable local firm, very pleased.

Yes thats a good price, is the quote from CAI approved company?

Have you thought about doing it yourself?

Many thks for you comments.

Doing it myself ? - Afraid I don't have the wife's approval to go up on the roof on my own! Or the experience/knowledge to fit the pole.
