Apparently a 240v/110v converter does the trick quite nicely, as long is it's not rated less than 45va. I've spoken to Bose UK and they're quite adament that a US system will not work in the UK at all. They say that our voltage when stepped down is still 'slightly different' from the US voltage and due to this the powerpack overheats and the thermal cut out circuitry kicks in and shuts it down. I've just bought, but haven't received it yet, a US LS35 mediacentre and the seller has used it for the past two years with a converter in the UK and has had no trouble at all. I'll post another message in a couple of weeks confirming this for myself.
Getting back to the original theme, this one I've just bought is a series one (not two as I originally thought) and so the above multiregion hack should work too. I've had this confirmed from two different sources now. Again I'll confirm this in a couple of weeks (that's if it isn't already multiregion)
Even though I'm still blown away by the sound quality and style of Bose, I think the way they try to stop us buying anything other than their overpriced UK registered products is totally unfair, especially considering on average their US products are two thirds the price. If the damn things weren't so heavy I'd order all my stuff from Ebay US!! Makes me cry when I see how cheap things are over there!!!!
