Is it sky+?
If so use RGB and therefore you need to use the scart

even if it isnt sky +, usually RGB via scart will give the best picture (although some plasmas have a problem with RGB, and s video turns out better - i cant remember which one). Connect by scart and make sure in the services > picture settings menu you set output to RGB and not PAL and make sure the scart goes in an RGB enabled scart socket (usually AV1). PS i assume it is sky + as most normal digibox's dont have s video out.

Whichever looks best to you...
AFAIK, the s-vid output will give a 'softer' picture which some people prefer depending on the device your viewing on.

If your decoders are different to ours, how are we ever going to know the answer ? Unless you find another NZ Avforums reader, of course

I was told that scart RGB will always give you a better picture than s-vid is that true?

please dont pm me asking to look at your thread, ill look at it in my own time, if you are getting SKY and not SATELLITE from your own broadcaster, do as i said before. Otherwise use a fully wired scart and enable RGB both on the decoder and the TV. again like i said before. If you dont like that use s video. simple.

That question has created so many arguments in the past
The quick answer is "probably", but it's all down to how well your TV has been engineered. Some TV's actually produce better pictures from s-video, and on many others the difference is so small it's not worth talking about.
