CR80 rubber deteriorating badly

Was looking at a couple of my remotes tonight and thought they needed a bit of a clean, coffee, juice, beer etc

Did the Plasma one, then moved onto the CR80, saw what looked like dried on spillage so soaked it with the pledge for a second or 2 then gently tried to rub worst of it off with my nail, then the horror struck home, not spillage the bloody rubberised finish was peeling off, after 15 mins of trying to remove the worst it now looks like a complete piece of garbage on the rear casing.

Anyone else had this happen?, its not even as though the thing gets a lot of use, nor is it in direct sunlight, just sits on the coffee table with the other remotes.

Really really annoying to find what appears to be such a poor finish on such a so-called quality purchase

This has happened to mine already, but it does get a lot of use. Give your dealer a phone and see what they say. They may be able to get Arcam to send a replacmment to you.

do you think its unable to handle a mild household cleaner ?, surely not.

anyways the damage was there long before the pledge got anywhere near it, hence the urge to clean them
