What sound will I get from a normal sky digital box (not sky plus) hooked up to a decent 5.1 system. I realise I won't get full Dolby Digital, but will I get a decent surround sound experience
Most Sky boxes will only have stereo L & R signals which often carry Dolby Surround material. Optical digital sound is usually only found on Sky+ boxes, although there were a few Sony digiboxes around at one time that had optical outputs which were not enabled for Dolby Digital. You will only get Dolby Digital from Sky+ boxes.
