Channel 5 problems

Hi,

I can receive most freeview channels fine. However, Channel 5 breaks up, loss of sound and so on. Is this normal?

Symptoms of a poor signal. do you have a good aerial?

Hi,

Aerial, booster (4 room feed) etc was installed by a local firm. According to the Sony VTX-D800U, signal and quality are maxed out.

Should I get the firm back?

Do you know which transmitter your aerial is on?

Only tried it in the one - been in the house 1 week only, so I am a bit . The builders cabled the house, they could have screwed up?

Are you sure it's only CH5 that is affected?.
Take a look here ,this is MUX.A and if it is an aerial/reception issue I would have thought these channels would also be giving you problems.

It's a small possibility, but still a possibility. A cable fault could cause a reflected signal in the cable which could result in just one multiplex being weaker than the others. Try it in another room.

When was the aerial put up?

With spring / summer here it is possible any trees / leaves have grown in the way.

These have a weird effect on signals and can cause individual mux's to drop out.

Hi,

QVC is giving problems, but I don't have many of the others.

What would be the solution?

Cheers,
Ian
