TV/VCR combi - outputting to Pioneer DVR520H recorder
Daewoo TV/VCR combi - outputting to DVD recorder
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I want to archive some old VHS tapes to a Pioneer DVR520H DVD recorder.
We have two VCRs in the house, but both of them are TV/VCR combis.
The one with more connections is a Daewoo GB14H3T2.
I have tried every possible combination of leads which we have and none of them will allow video _output_ from the Daewoo.
For example, I have a lead with
- a scart with 'in-out' switch at one end, and
- a three pronged yellow-red-white lead (composite video) at the other.
If I follow these steps:
- put the scart end into the Daewoo and switch it to 'out',
- put the three prongs (composite video) into the Pioneer input,
- select the Pioneer input as my source,
the recording comes out blank.
Would I be better off getting a good scart-to-scart connector with 'in out' switch? (I have tried standard scart without in-out switch to no avail.)
Alternatively, maybe it is a limitation of basic TV/VCR combis that they cannot output video, and their connectors are only for input.
If I buy a new basic VCR player, will this be able to do it?
Thanks for any guidance on this,
ammdw
